History of Columbus Retreat

Once upon a time a traveler, Mr. Columbus came to India, to spend his retired life.The voyager has traveled all throughout India to establish his nature oriented resort. Finally Near Golden Temple, Kushal Nagar at Kodagu (Coorg) District as the location to actualize his dream choice, because his vision was to establish a nature oriented resort. Hence, in the year 2005 he has purchased 5 acre agricultural field and transformed the ordinary land into a small jungle with lots of trees, valleys and bamboos. His vision was to protect and preserve the last remaining of natural essence on earth and thereby safeguard our vital water sources as well as the planet’s rich biodiversity of both flora and fauna for ourselves and future generation. He has successfully implemented the Responsible Tourism activities in the resort without affecting the nature.
But, in the year 2009 he has been paralyzed due to a severe stroke and all his dreams were shattered. Then the resort was abandoned without continuing the natural environmental process was made by Mr. Columbus. Now, we are on the process reviving this resort to its old glory. We don’t know what happened to Mr. Columbus once he left to Switzerland. Actually the name Columbus was told by our neighbors at Coorg and we are not certain whether it is his real name. Anyway we believe his soul is remaining in the resort and would like to continue the process which has stopped on the middle way. So as the first initiative we have given his name for the resort as “Columbus Retreat”
